The inside story
The imposing Buda Castle sits on the Castle Hill in Budapest offering views over the beautiful Danube river. It once served as a residence of the Hungarian kings but today the castle complex houses the Hungarian National Gallery, The Budapest History Museum and the Széchenyi National Library.
The foundations of today’s castle were constructed in the fourteenth century. The castle would later be besieged over 30 times and went through considerable changes in style, renovations and reconstructions throughout the years.
