The inside story

Codorníu is one of the oldest winemaking families in Spain. The winery is located just 45 minutes from Barcelona, nestled in the Penedès region, a prestigious area of high quality wines and sparkling wines in the country. Jaume Codorníu was the founding father of this famous old wine making family. Designed by the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch, the Codorníu winery buildings were declared a national historic-artistic monument in 1976. They represent one of the most prominent examples of art nouveau architecture in Spain. The property is surrounded by nature and vineyards. The winery includes several activities related to the world of wine, sparkling wine, nature, sport, culture and gastronomy. The company has been one of the innovators in "Wine Tourism" in Spain.
