Enter a historic olive oil mill carved into the rock in the Sassi of Matera and join a small-group pasta workshop focused on real Lucanian techniques. After a short introduction to the cave setting, put on your apron and chef hat, sip a welcome glass of prosecco, and start preparing fresh pasta from scratch.
You’ll knead the dough by hand, roll it, cut it, and shape traditional pasta such as cavatelli or orecchiette, following the gestures used in local family kitchens. A local chef will prepare a seasonal dressing for the pasta, using selected local ingredients that change according to availability.
With the Cooking Class option, you’ll take home the fresh pasta made during the workshop, together with a souvenir certificate of participation.
With the Cooking Class with Lunch option, sit down inside the cave oil mill for a full meal: traditional local appetizers, the pasta prepared during the class with its seasonal chef-made dressing, regional wine, dessert, coffee, and a typical digestif.
