The inside story
Visit the impressive war monument and military cemetery of Slavin, dedicated to the 6,845 Soviet soldiers who died in battle for the city.
Built in 1960, situated high upon Slavin hill overlooking the castle, this is a place where history and beauty meet. The star of the show is the central obelisk topped with an 11-meter tall statue of a victorious Soviet soldier with a flag.
