The Egyptian Museum of Barcelona is the only museum in Catalonia dedicated to Egyptian culture and one of the most important in Europe devoted exclusively to Ancient Egypt.
Based on the prestigious Jordi Clos Collection of Egyptian Archaeology, the museum offers a fascinating journey through more than three thousand years of history, allowing visitors to discover how the ancient Egyptians lived, worked, and viewed the afterlife.
Its galleries house an extraordinary collection of sculptures, sarcophagi, mummies, jewellery, amulets, reliefs, ceramics, and everyday objects that help visitors understand one of the most influential and fascinating civilisations in history.
The permanent exhibition is organised by thematic areas that allow visitors to delve deeper into topics such as religion, funerary practices, daily life, hieroglyphic writing, social organisation, and the role of the pharaohs.
In addition to the permanent collection, the museum regularly organises temporary exhibitions, guided tours, and cultural activities that offer new perspectives on Ancient Egypt.
