You'll get to explore the history-laden town of Assisi on this full-day tour. The coach journey from the port takes around two hours and when you get here you can get stuck straight in to everything this place has to offer and all at your own pace. The town's biggest claim to fame is that it's the birthplace of St. Francis who founded the Franciscan religious order. The main basilica's dedicated to him and it's one of many in and around the town centre all of which have UNESCO World Heritage status. For art lovers the Basilica di San Francesco boasts one of the largest collections of art outside a gallery anywhere in the world. Another highlight here is the Piazza del Comune right in the heart of the town centre. This centuries-old public square's bordered by cosy bars and independent Italian restaurants if you fancy a spot of lunch and some downtime. After you've finished exploring you can hop back on the coach for the ride back to the port.
