This winter experience combines guided kayaking in the Stockholm Archipelago with a traditional Swedish fika and time to relax in a seaside sauna.
You can opt for the tour-only option and meet your guide at Skärgårdens Kanotcenter on Resarö, just outside Stockholm, or select the tour with pick-up option, which includes a transfer service from your accommodation in Stockholm.
After check-in, the staff will help you change into winter paddling gear. Your guide will then give a safety briefing and introduce the basic paddling techniques. You'll practise a few strokes on land before heading out onto the water.
Once on the water, you'll kayak through calm, icy channels surrounded by snow-covered islands. The route passes holiday cottages and shorelines, offering a different perspective on the archipelago in winter.
During the tour, you'll take a break to enjoy a traditional Swedish fika, including a warm drink and something sweet. Depending on the weather and route, this may take place on a quiet island or back at the kayak centre.
The activity ends with time in a wood-burning sauna by the sea. Between sauna sessions, you can choose to take a refreshing dip in the cold water, following a local winter tradition.
