In this half day tour you will travel north of the Daintree river to explore the Daintree rainforest and the environment around Cape Tribulation, where the rainforest meets the reef. You will spend time with a local Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal guide, visit some cultural sights, learn about the history of the people and how they have maintained their culture and adapted to modern day life.
Your experience starts with a pick up from your accommodation, after which you will go visiting a number of culturally significant sights and local attractions including World Heritage Daintree. You will explore the region all the way up to Cape Tribulation and you will go on a guided walk through the Daintree rainforest, which is the world’s oldest living rainforest.
You will learn about the amazing relationship the Kuku Yalanji still have with their land and you will experience these diverse environments. You will also sample some seasonal bush tucker and learn about bush medicine, all while appreciating the history, culture and traditions of our Australian Aboriginal people.
After seeing some natural wonders you will visit the majestic Daintree river and, if you’re lucky, you might spot some local wildlife. You will also have the opportunity to have a swim in one of the most pristine freshwater streams in the area before returning to your accommodation.
