Book this experience at the pig farm that is supported by the local operator to finance Kenyan grandmothers who need to raise their grandchildren and extended families. Help the lovely grandmas in their farming activities at the pig farm and cook a traditional meal.
The tour starts from Nairobi to a Kikuyu village on the outskirts of Nairobi. Meet the community’s warm and welcoming grandmothers and learn more about how the pig farm sustains their lives. Not only it provides a sustainable income, but it also provides power for their homes. The biogas system creates energy out of the waste and stops the grandmas from having to cut down trees to cook or keep their houses warm.
You can also help out the grandmas make a cup of tea and other local delicacies like beans, ugali (a maize flour dish eaten across East Africa), and chapati (soft layered bread).
