The inside story
Meir Palace is a Rococo gem. Located on Antwerp and Belgium’s main shopping street, the former imperial residence is undoubtedly one of the city’s most impressive buildings. You’ll find everything from historical rooms to a grand café and a premier chocolate shop, all nestled within the grandeur of this historic palace.
Built in the 18th century by a wealthy merchant, Johan Alexander van Susteren, it used to house important rulers like Napoleon Bonaparte, Willem I of the Netherlands and the Belgian Royal House. After a lengthy renovation, it opened to the public in 2010.
