Come explore the Estonian countryside on an 8-hour private tour to experience untouched and varied nature. After meeting your guide in the lobby of your hotel, you will head to Lahemaa National Park, the biggest and oldest park in Estonia, situated in the picturesque northern seaside. Lahemaa is translated as “land of bays”, where deep bays adjoin sharp peninsulas.
On your 30-minute drive from Tallinn to Lahemaa, you will come past soviet apartment blocks and stop at old graves, formed as spirals, symbolizing the Sun. The cemetery in Rabale is the oldest monument in Estonia, date back to 1 century BC. Afterward, you will visit the widest waterfall on the river Jagala.
Upon your arrival at the national park, you will head into the moorland on a wooden path and descend into valleys that are too deep for elks to reach where, If you are lucky, you can pick some cloud-berry. Then you will see the Käsmu captains' village Kasmu, built in the 15th century. There, you will visit the Marine Museum, guided by the real successor of captain and you can sail to “devil isle” on an old Viking boat.
Next up is a lunch break at an old tavern in the old fishing village Altja, where you can try bean soup and fried potato covered in sunflower oil. Once, you have refueled, your guide takes you to 20-meter high boulders and tells you about the stories and legends behind them.
Another fascinating stop inside Lahemaa are the manors of rich noblemen from the 15th century, where you will explore French-style parks, a pond in the shape of the infinity sign and the Forest Museum
As a great addition to the tour, you can make an extra stop in Kiiu to see the smallest castle in Europe, where you will be treated to local liquor «Kiiu torn» with homemade rhubarb pie and taken to the tower's viewing platform.
