Your guide will then lead you through via dei Fori Imperiali, a piece of modern Italian history: the dictator Benito Mussolini had an entire neighborhood demolished in the 1920s to realize it as to remember the Roman Empire and its symbology, which fascism took its inspiration from. The road connects Piazza Venezia to the Colosseum.
The last stop before reaching the Colosseum will be the Temple of Peace, a fascinating forum built by Emperor Vespasian with the loot of the Jewish–Roman war.
Prepare to remain speechless while descending towards the undergrounds of the Colosseum and admiring its narrow corridors, tunnels and complex mechanisms at the evocative light of the moon.
