You'll be picked up from your hotel in Prague and travel to Terezín for a half-day visit. On arrival, meet your guide and explore key locations that reflect the town's historical significance.
The Small Fortress was built in the 18th century by Emperor Joseph II. During the Second World War, it was used by the Gestapo as a police prison, while the town of Terezín served as a Jewish ghetto and concentration camp. You'll visit the Small Fortress and the Ghetto Museum to learn more about these chapters of the town's history. Opened in 1994, the Ghetto Museum houses a permanent exhibition focused on the political prison and the persecution of the Czech population under the Nazi regime.
