What to expect

Embark on a spiritual journey to Fátima, one of the world’s most important Catholic pilgrimage sites, on this private 4-hour tour from Lisbon. Visit the sacred Basilica, the Chapel of Apparitions and the Church of the Holy Trinity; stand in awe before the Shrine of our Lady and see the Azinheira Grande. After learning more about the history of Fátima at the wax museum, stick around to take part in the moving candle procession (from March to October only) through the Basilica square.

Meet your guide at your Lisbon hotel and soak up the scenery on the journey to Fátima. Along the way, discover the fascinating history of the sacred site from your knowledgeable guide and hear about the apparitions of Our Lady of Fátima that appeared to three shepherd children in 1917 (Jacinta, Lúcia, and Francisco). On arrival in Fátima, head straight to the basilica to admire the statue of Our Lady of Fatima and see the tombs of the children - Francisco, Jacinta and Lúcia. Follow your guide inside the Igreja da Santíssima Trindade (Church of the Holy Trinity), the largest Catholic sanctuary in Portugal, then learn more about the city’s sacred history at the Wax Museum. Next, visit the Capela das Aparições (Chapel of Apparitions) and learn how it was built at the request of Our Lady of Fátima, on the site of the apparitions.

Close by, see the Azinheira Grande tree where Jacinta, Lúcia, and Francisco passed before the apparitions appeared. For an even more memorable experience, opt to include the Candle Procession, which takes place at 6.00pm, everyday from 21 April until 30 November, and every Saturday from 1 December until 20 April. Experience the magic of Fátima after-dark and join the atmospheric candlelight march beneath the beautifully illuminated basilica.
