During a full-day, you will discover with your guide the profound scars left on the landscape of the Somme located in the North of France. This private tour will show you some of the areas which suffered severely in these violent and bloody battle of the Great War.
To start, you will visit the city of Peronne, where you will visit the important museum commemorating the First World War which is introducing the full magnitude of the first world war.
You will then follow the Remembrance circuit visiting the sites of Delvin Wood in Longueval, the Lochnagar crater located at la Boisselle - an impressive mine hole 100 meters across and 30 meters deep, the villages of Pozieres and Thiepval, the Ulster Tower, the Beaumont-Hamel and the Newfoundland Memorial with its preserved trenches. You will finish this moving day with a tour at the Australian National Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux, the repository of the names of more than 10,000 Australians who died in France during the First World War.
