The inside story

A transgressed artist, who loved to go against the grain, and yet at the same time passionate for ancient art, especially devotional. Tamara de Lempicka has revolutionized the world of women’s art since the early decades of the twentieth century. Born in Warsaw in 1898, Tamara de Lempicka grew up in several European countries (Switzerland, Russia, France) and then lived for some time in the United States. Tamara began to study painting at the Académie de la Grande Chaumiere and the Academie Ranson in Paris, where she improved her personal style, influenced by Art Deco, but very original. In 1922 she exhibited for the first time at the Salon d'Automne and soon became famous as a portraitist.
