Exploring the Arctic fjords is an amazing experience and a must for anyone visiting the far north, and this fun adrenaline filled tour which is available as a 2-hour or 4-hour experience combines sightseeing on a boat with a short history lesson of Tromsø and its surroundings.
Tromsø is famously known for its beautiful nature, thriving marine life and beautiful fjords that are located around the main island. What you might not be aware of, however, is the large amount of history and points of interest that are located in these incredible areas. Vikings and Sami people have been living here for more than 10,000 years, and throughout history the sea has been the main natural resource where societies and villages have been built around the area during this time.
Upon meeting your guide you will go through a briefing session and get dressed in the necessary gear to stay dry and warm. You will then walk about 200 meters to the high speed RIB boat where you will get your own seat and an assigned small locker where you can keep a small bag or a camera safe.
Your private, certified and experienced skipper will then safely navigate the fjords and provide a guided tour of the most beautiful and interesting spots in the area. During the tour, there will be opportunities to take photos and ask questions when you stop at points of interest.
This tour offers the perfect combination between a thrilling experience at sea, and a short history lesson, enabling you to cover as many points of interest as possible while you learn about the area in a fun way. You will also have the opportunity to spot local wildlife and to appreciate the stunning nature.
The final route will be discussed on the day and is based on the wishes of your group. Please note that it may not be possible to visit all the destinations in one tour as this is dependent on the wind and weather conditions.
