Paphos is brimming with history, culture and atmosphere, and on this half-day excursion you'll discover the must-see sites in the area. There's a trip to Ayios Neophytos Monastery, a tasting of local sweets and wines and a visit to Sofia's Traditional House in Letymvou village.
First up is Yeroskipou village to try the famous Cypriot delight ‘loukoumia', before heading to the Ayios Neophytos Monastery, tucked away in the tranquil village of Tala. The remarkable Engleistra – carved out of the mountain by the sanctuary's hermit founder – contains some of the finest examples of Byzantine frescoes.
At Sofia's Traditional House in Letymvou, we find out how she makes fresh halloumi and bakes village bread. Follow with a visit to the nearby Makarounas Winery for a guided tour and there's a sampling of their locally produced wines. Then, if you're not ready to return to your hotel just yet, there's an extra drop-off stop at the harbour if you wish to visit the nearby attractions at your own pace.
