What to expect

Overlooking the Gulf of Naples, Herculaneum became famous worldwide when the archaeological excavations brought the ancient splendor of this Roman city to the surface before the eruption of Vesuvius in 79AD buried everything with lava. Along with Pompeii, it was listed among the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in 1997.

This 2-hour tour will allow you to explore the archaeological site in the company of an expert guide, who will show you the entire site and the beautiful mansions. The excavations of the city of Herculaneum have brought to light wonderful frescoes and wooden materials. Of particular interest are the Sacello degli Augustali, the baths and several shops.
