After your visit to the Last Supper you'll reach the Medieval Sforza Castle. The fortress and gorgeous residence of the dukes of Milan from past centuries is today host to many museums and important art collections.
Then, you will dive into the charming Piazza dei Mercanti, an unexpected square hidden away from the crowded streets. There, you'll feel the thrill of the Renaissance-like illusion of space created by Bramante and you'll get to admire the medieval heart of the city.
Your path will continue at Piazza della Scala, the square that houses the Scala Theatre (exterior visit), one of the world’s best-known Opera Houses, built in 1776. Some of the greatest musicians and singers the world has ever known have performed here. Giuseppe Verdi, Bellini, Rossini and Donizetti are just of few names that must be mentioned.
You will enter the majestic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, an amazing 19th-century glass vaulted shopping arcade. The gallery is surrounded by shops and cafés and is also known as the ‘salotto di Milano’ (‘Milan’s drawing room’) for its importance as a common meeting point through the years for the inhabitants of Milan.
Finally, you’ll visit the famous Duomo (exterior visit), found in the heart of the metropolis. An impressive and breathtaking cathedral that is often considered one of the most beautiful churches in the world.
NOTE: Visits to the interior of Santa Maria delle Grazie are not possible during Religious Holidays and Functions, also without notice. On these days, a full explanation will be given from outside the Church and your Guide will offer you an alternative.
