Mountaintop chapels, national monuments and some of Portugal's most dramatic locations come into view on this off-road adventure in the Sintra Mountains and beyond. You'll discover the Peninha Sanctuary, Cape Roca, Sintra and the magnificent Pena Palace and much more.
You'll kick off by driving along the coastline of Cascais to escape into the Sintra hills. This is where your 4x4 really comes into action as we climb to the top of the Peninha Sanctuary in Sintra National Park. Sweeping panoramic views over the hills and coastline await – perhaps even to Berlengas Islands on a clear day. Travelling back down to lower ground, you'll visit the blustery westernmost point in mainland Europe – Cape Roca – before stopping at Fojo and Adraga beaches.
Then it's time for a relaxing lunch, after which you'll head to one of the must-sees in Portugal – Pena National Palace. You'll have some free time to wander around the fairytale town of Sintra and we'll then return to Lisbon via Cascais.
