The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is truly a sight to see- forged under the sea, then buried beneath sand dunes, it is now a masterpiece of the desert that continues to be sculpted by wind and time.
The Aztec Sandstone is the most studied and famous geographic fault in the world and a photographer/sightseer’s dream! This tour features many scheduled stops, including Ancient Indian Petroglyphs, Pictographs and Roasting Pits as well as beautiful Desert Springs. The 3,000 foot tall Wilson Cliffs are multicolored sand dunes that have become sandstone over millennia. The provider prefers to operate this tour in the morning, as the sun on the cliffs creates a magnificent atmosphere.
This location has also been the site of many western movies, and there will be a good chance of seeing wild mustangs, wild burros and bighorn sheep on your adventure. Also, as an added stop, you'll tour through the beautiful and lush 900-year-old Joshua Tree Forest.
