What to expect

David has become an icon of male beauty and a symbol of Florence and the Renaissance; discover why with our 1-hour tour, skipping the queue thanks to priority access and booking.

Your tour will begin with a visit to the section of the gallery dedicated to the collection of musical instruments of the Medici family: you will see the most expensive Stradivarius in the world, the oldest piano and other unique instruments!

Accompanied by your expert guide, you will enter the "Tribuna di De Fabris" where the four Prisoners and Michelangelo's San Matteo will take you to the imposing David. Are you ready to discover all the anecdotes related to the block of Carrara marble in which Michelangelo carved this biblical hero? Are you ready to understand the history and secrets behind each of the other 5 sculptures of Michelangelo in the room?

At the end of the tour, you can stay inside the Museum until closing time to see the poetic plaster casts of Lorenzo Bartolini, inside the Gipsoteca, the large collection of altarpieces on a gold background on the upper floor of the Gallery and other paintings of the Renaissance dating back to the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
