Fancy seeing all of Spain's best-kept secrets in just a few hours? Built for the International Exhibition of 1929, Poble Espanyol gives a great insight into the country's diverse regional architecture, all in one ‘Spanish Village' – located in the heart of Montjuic hill overlooking Barcelona.
There are 117 buildings including palaces, Basque farmhouses, religious buildings and beautiful plazas, winding streets and gardens. You can almost feel the atmosphere change as you stroll through Galicia, Andalusia, Aragon and so on.
Poble Espanyol boasts more than 40 craft workshops, where you can watch skilled artisans producing glass, leather, ceramics or jewellery before your very eyes. A Fiesta space introduces you to the sights and sounds of Spain's most iconic festivals, from the running of the bulls to the ‘castell' human towers and La Tomatina. And at the Fran Daurel Museum, you can see works by Spanish greats such as Picasso, Dalí or Miró.
